About Pîhtokahanapiwiyin
- Pîhtokahanapiwiyin (c.
- 1842 – 4 July 1886), better known as Chief Poundmaker, was a Plains Cree chief known as a peacemaker and defender of his people. After a battle with government forces in 1885, he was charged with treason.
- In May 2019, Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, exonerated the chief and apologized to the Poundmaker Cree Nation.
