Josip Horvat (Croatian pronunciation: [josip xor?at med?imu?rets]) (18 February 1904 – 2 June 1945 in Zagreb(?)), born in Cakovec, was a Croatian painter. Horvat was born to Dragutin and Marija Horvat in Cakovec.
He attended elementary school in Cakovec, and grade school in Nagykanizsa and Pest.
He then attended the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1917 to 1923.
