  • Hughes was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace.
  • He was born at Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. Hughes made his first-class cricket debut for Northamptonshire against Surrey in the 1990 County Championship.
  • He made nineteen first-class appearances for the county, the last of which came against Hampshire in the 1997 County Championship.
