About Lindsay Wesker

  • Lindsay Wesker (born 2 November 1959) is a British writer, DJ, and theatre director. Lindsay Wesker was born in London to parents Arnold Wesker and Doreen Wesker.
  • He began his working career as a playwright and screenplay writer.
  • He wrote two episodes of the British TV drama Angels in 1975.
  • During this time Lindsay wrote, directed, and performed in a play "What So Good" that was staged at the Jacksons Lane Community Centre in Highgate.
  • His writing talents also led to a radio play, "The Grey Cloud Show", being performed by Anthony Sheen on Capital Radio. In 1981, Wesker began writing for the Black Echoes music paper, before moving into A&R at WEA and A&M Records.
  • In 1986, Lindsay began broadcasting on Kiss FM, where he helped the station gain a licence to broadcast legally and became Head of Music there.
  • Lindsay then worked in A&R at Avex, Mushroom and ZTT.
  • Lindsay has been employed by MTV since 1999 and created MTV Base, MTV Hits, and MTV Dance.
  • He has self-published a novel about the music industry and, in 2013, he co-authored the book 'Masters of the Airwaves: The Rise and Rise of Underground Radio' with Dave VJ, published by Every Generation Media.
  • Lindsay presents a weekly radio show on www.mi-soul.com owned by KISS FM founder Gordon Mac. During this time Wesker found time to be a songwriter, writing tracks that appeared on the Dazzle albums. Lindsay has two children, Natasha St Luce Wesker and Werner Wesker.
  • He is married to his partner of 28 years, Claudette Patterson.
