Michael Philips (Arabic: ????? ?????; born March 29, 1984), better known by the pen name Michael Prince, is an Egyptian-Canadian writer.
Born to a Coptic family in the Upper Egyptian city of Nag Hammadi, Philips studied medicine at Assiut University then political science at the American University in Cairo.
Philips worked as a physician at the Abbassia Psychiatric Hospital, Cairo, then as a research analyst at the NATO Association of Canada.
Philips writes in both Arabic and English.
Philips's debut novel Assiut Citystan (2009) was nominated for the Arabic Booker Prize.
His second novel Sonquor's Crime (2011) is a dark comedy.
