Eugene O'Brien (born 24 April 1945) is an American composer who has been a member of the faculty at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music since 1987.
He was chair of the Composition Department from 1994 to 1999, and is currently the Executive Associate Dean .
He has also been a member of the composition faculties at the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Biographies and descriptions of his work are included in the New Grove Dictionary of American Music, Baker’s Biographical Dictionary of Musicians, and the Harvard Biographical Dictionary of Music.
