Ianis Hagi (Romanian pronunciation: ['had??i]; born 22 October 1998) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays mainly as an attacking midfielder for Belgian club Genk and the Romania national team.
A young exponent of his father Gheorghe's prominent football academy, he made his professional debut for Viitorul Constan?a at age 16.
In 2016, he moved abroad for the first time to Italian side Fiorentina, where he only recorded two competitive matches.
Hagi returned to Viitorul one and a half years later, aiding to two domestic trophies during his second spell at the club.
In 2019, he transferred to Belgium with Genk for a fee which put him among the most expensive sales of the Romanian championship.
In November 2018, Hagi earned his first full cap for Romania in a UEFA Nations League game with Lithuania.
