(Slovene pronunciation: ['mr?slaw 'ts?`?rar 'jú?nij?r], known as Miro Cerar ['mr? -]; born 25 August 1963) is a Slovenian lawyer and politician who served as the 8th Prime Minister of Slovenia from 18 September 2014 to 14 March 2018, when he announced his resignation, and served as the leader of a caretaker government which lasted until a new one was formed following the June parliamentary election.
With a non-political background and as one who was relatively new to politics at the time of his appointment as Prime Minister, Cerar leads the centrist Modern Centre Party, formerly named eponymously the Party of Miro Cerar.
