About Leen Vente

  • Leendert Roelof Jan "Leen" Vente (14 May 1911 – 9 November 1989) was a Dutch footballer born in Rotterdam.
  • He earned 21 caps and scored 19 goals for the Netherlands national football team, and played in the 1934 and 1938 World Cups.During his club career, Vente played for Feyenoord Rotterdam.
  • He was one of the players that participated in the opening match of stadium De Kuip in 1937.
  • Feyenoord played Beerschot and won 5-2.
  • Vente scored the first ever goal in the stadium. His brother's grandson, Dylan Vente, currently plays for Feyenoord.
