Thompson attended Crossroads High School in Santa Monica, CA and later attended UCLA for 4 years.
Thompson was the number 1 ranked NCAA singles player in the nation his senior year at UCLA.
Thompson also won the CIF individual title his senior year representing Crossroads High School.
