About Anjelica Huston

  • Anjelica Huston (; born July 8, 1951) is an American actress, director, producer, author, and former fashion model.
  • Huston became the third generation of her family to receive an Academy Award, when she won Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 1985's Prizzi's Honor, joining her father, director John Huston, and grandfather, actor Walter Huston.
  • She received further Academy Award nominations for her performances in Enemies: A Love Story (1989) and The Grifters (1990), for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress, respectively. Huston earned BAFTA nominations for her work in two Woody Allen films: Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) and Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993).
  • She received acclaim for her portrayal of the Grand High Witch in the 1990 film adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Witches, and earned two Golden Globe nominations for starring as Morticia Addams in The Addams Family (1991) and its sequel Addams Family Values (1993).
  • Subsequent film credits have included Buffalo '66 (1998), Ever After (1998), Blood Work (2002), Daddy Day Care (2003), Seraphim Falls (2006), Choke (2008), 50/50 (2011), and The Cleanse (2016).
