  • René Goscinny (French: [??ne gosini], Polish: [g??'t?inn?] (listen); 14 August 1926 – 5 November 1977) was a French comic editor and writer of Polish descent, who created the Astérix comic book series with illustrator Albert Uderzo.
  • He also worked on the comic series Lucky Luke with Morris (considered the series' golden age) and Iznogoud with Jean Tabary.
  • He also wrote a series of children's books known as "Le Petit Nicolas" series (Little Nicolas).
