Los Angeles, CA, October 20, 1965) was an American composer.Woltmann studied at Columbia University, then at the Eastman School of Music with Bernard Rogers and Howard Hanson (graduated 1933).
In 1937 he received a Juilliard Fellowship to the American Academy in Rome (Prix de Rome).He composed many orchestral and choral works.
He served in the army during World War II.
His works were performed by the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and many others.
