Dustin Glenn Poirier (born January 19, 1989) is an American professional mixed martial artist, who is currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he competes in the Lightweight division.
He is a former interim UFC Lightweight Champion.
A professional competitor since 2009, Poirier has competed in the WEC as well as the UFC.
He holds notable victories over champions Max Holloway (twice), Eddie Alvarez, Justin Gaethje, and Anthony Pettis.
As of October 28, he is #2 in the UFC lightweight rankings and #12 in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings.Poirier was one of the subjects of the 2011 documentary Fightville by Petra Epperlein and Michael Tucker, which examines the mixed martial arts scene in southern Louisiana.
