About Angelo De Donatis
- Angelo De Donatis (born 4 January 1954) is an Italian Catholic prelate who currently serves as Cardinal Vicar (officially Cardinal Vicar of His Holiness), Archpriest of the Archbasilica of St.
- John Lateran, and Grand Chancellor of the Pontifical Lateran University. He was the first person since the 16th century to be appointed Vicar General of Rome while not a cardinal.
- He initially held the rank of archbishop when appointed, until Pope Francis made him a cardinal on 28 June 2018.
- Prior to his appointment as Cardinal Vicar, De Donatis was an auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Rome.
