About Andrew Yakubu
- Andrew Laah Yakubu (born September 10, 1955) is the former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
- He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers; Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers; a Fellow of the Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering; Associate Fellow, Chemical Society of Nigeria and a registered Engineer of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria COREN.
- He was relieved of duty by ex-President Goodluck Jonathan for unknown reasons.
- The anti-corruption agency, EFCC, recently charged Yakubu to court for false declaration of assets, after the agency found $9.8m in his Kaduna residence.
- He has not been found guilty by any court of law for corruption in Nigeria. He was succeeded by Joseph Dawha in 2014.
- His honors include the Presidential Merit Award by the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (1997) and the GMD of NNPC Award (1987).
- He was given the chieftaincy title “Iyan Atyap” by the Atyap Chiefdom of Kaduna State in 2004, and he is a full member of the Atyap Council of Chiefs.
- He is a fellow of the Nigerian Association of Technologist in Engineering and an associate fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria.
