Kanhaiya Lal Misra, ('Punditji'), was born on 31 August 1903 (Krishna Janmashtami) in a Brahmin family of Mariyadpur in district Azamgarh, U.P., India.
He was Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh, India from 1952 to 1969.
