Andrew Graham Beshear (born November 29, 1977) is an American attorney and politician who is serving as the 63rd Governor of Kentucky since 2019.
A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served one term as attorney general of Kentucky.
He is the son of Steve Beshear, the 61st Governor of Kentucky, who served from 2007 to 2015. Beshear graduated from Vanderbilt University and the University of Virginia School of Law, before working at Stites & Harbison.
He was elected attorney general in 2015.
As attorney general, Beshear sued Governor Matt Bevin several times over issues such as health care and pensions, before challenging and defeating him in the 2019 gubernatorial election.
