- Govind Maktappa Karjol is an Indian politician.He served as Minister of Minor irrigation from water resources, planning Department, Statistics Department in (2008-2013) First BJP government in the state of Karnataka.
- He is the present 9th Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka and he is also serving as Minister of Public works Department & social welfare in fourth B.S.Yediurappa Ministry. He is a three term member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
- He was also the Deputy Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly from 25 May 2018 to 26 July 2019.
- He is also the State Vice-President of BJP-Karnataka.
