Wolfgang Bergold (19 April 1913, in Dresden – 14 August 1987, in East Berlin) was an East German politician and diplomat who in 1963 was appointed as his country's ambassador to (North) Vietnam.As a young man he was a persistent participant in Communist Resistance against the Nazi regime: between 1933 and 1945 much of his time was spent inside a succession of concentration camps and prisons.
