About Priscah Jepleting Cherono

  • Priscah Jepleting Cherono, née Ngetich (born 27 June 1980 in Kamuiywa, Nandi District) is a Kenyan runner who specialises in the 5000 metres and cross-country running.
  • She represented Kenya in the 5000 m at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
  • She is the Kenyan record holder over the two miles distance. She has represented Kenya twice at the World Championships in Athletics, winning the bronze medal in the 5000 m in 2007.
  • She was the silver medallist in the event at the 2004 African Championships in Athletics.
  • She has run for her country at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships ten times between 1997 and 2011, helping Kenya to five team medals.
  • She was the runner-up in the short race at the 2006 edition.
