Sir Christopher Robert Chope (born 19 May 1947) is a British barrister and Conservative politician.
He was the Member of Parliament for Christchurch.
Chope was first elected in 1983 for Southampton Itchen, but lost this seat in 1992 to Labour.
He returned to Parliament in 1997 and remained an MP until the dissolution of Parliament on 5 November 2019.
A Brexit advocate, he has been supportive of Leave Means Leave, a Eurosceptic pressure group.At the 2017 General Election , he had the largest majority of any Conservative Member of Parliament.
