- Matthew Hughes (born 9 February 1950) is an Australian politician.
- He has been a Labor member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly since the 2017 state election, representing Kalamunda. Hughes was born in Audenshaw in the United Kingdom, and moved to Australia in 1979.
- He was a teacher and the principal of John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School, and also served on Swan City Council.
