Amanda Sullivan Randle Rudd (April 9, 1923 – February 11, 2017) was an American librarian and the first African American to serve as Commissioner of the Chicago Public Library.Born in Greenville, South Carolina, she attended Florida A & M University and Case Western Reserve University.
She initially worked as a schoolteacher in Cleveland before becoming a librarian.
After moving to Chicago she joined the Public Library in 1975 and served as its head from 1982 to 1985.
