Marie Immaculata (Lata) Brandis (26 June 1895 – 12 May 1981) was born in the small village of Úmonín in Austria-Hungary (now in the Czech Republic).
She was the daughter of Leopold Brandis (1854–1928) and Johanna von Schäffer (1871–1927).
Known by her nickname Lata, in 1937 she became the only woman in history to win the Great Pardubice Steeplechase.
She died in Reiteregg, Austria.
