About Akbaruddin Owaisi
- Akbaruddin Owaisi (born 14 June 1970) is an Indian politician and Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Assembly and an MLA of the Telangana Legislative Assembly.
- He is a member of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and is its floor leader in the Telangana Legislative Assembly.Owaisi has precided over the Chandrayangutta assembly constituency from 1999 to date, wining for the fifth term in 2018.
- He assumed the position of floor leader in 2004.He has been in media spotlight for his controversies especially about the "15 Minutes" Speech".
- He is referred to by political opponents as a "divisive leader" and "A dog's tail which can't be straightened".
- He has also been previously attacked by 15 armed assailants with guns, swords and daggers while rallying in 2011.
- He was shot on his abdomen and still faces issues because the bullet is still lodged near his kidney.
