  • Peter Thomas Ward (born July 26, 1937 in Montreal, Quebec) is a retired professional baseball player who played nine seasons for the Baltimore Orioles, Chicago White Sox, and New York Yankees of Major League Baseball.
  • Ward was the runnerup for the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 1963, and was named American League Rookie of the Year by The Sporting News.
  • The son of former National Hockey League forward Jimmy Ward, Pete attended Jefferson High School in Portland, Oregon and played college baseball at Portland's Lewis & Clark College. Ward was a coach of the Atlanta Braves, managed and coached in the Yankees' farm system, and managed the Portland Beavers.
  • He is a member of the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame, and the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame.
