About Cristian Săpunaru
- Ionu? Cristian Sapunaru (born 5 April 1984) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays for Turkish club Denizlispor mainly as a central defender.
- He can also be deployed as a right back or a defensive midfielder. He began his senior career in 2002 with Na?ional Bucure?ti, and went on to make a name for himself at Rapid Bucure?ti.
- In 2008, he signed with Porto in Portugal where he won ten major honours over the course of four years, including the 2011 Europa League.
- After two additional seasons in Spain playing for Zaragoza and Elche, he returned to his native country in 2015. A full international for Romania since 2008, Sapunaru represented the nation in two European Championships.
