About Carl von Perbandt
- Carl von Perbandt (12 May 1832 – 6 April 1911) was German landscape painter and member of the Düsseldorf school of painting.
- He travelled to the United States in 1870 and spent most of his career in Northern California where he lived from 1876 until 1903.
- Many of his paintings were destroyed in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.
- However, the Oakland Museum and the Crocker Art Museum hold two of his landscapes and several more are held in private collections.
