Ames (born 12 December 1947) is a Canadian-born philosopher, translator, and author.
He is Humanities Chair Professor at Peking University in Beijing, China, Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Hawai?i at Manoa, and a Berggruen Fellow.
