- Pierre Legendre (born 15 June 1930 in Normandy, France) is a French historian of law and psychoanalyst.
- Legendre holds a position of research director at the École pratique des hautes études.
- His work is primarily devoted to the history of juristic institutions and concepts (Roman law and Canon law) and to the anthropology of Western civilization.[1][2]Legendre has collaborated in the making of a number of films, shown on ARTE and other television stations: The Fashioning of Western Man (1996), Mirror of a Nation: Ecole Nationale d'Administration and Dominium Mundi: The Empire of Management (2007), all produced and distributed by Ideale Audience International, Paris.
