He is the younger brother of Emil Dumitriu (Dumitriu II) who was an International footballer and champion of Romania with Rapid Bucure?ti and the elder brother of Constantin Dumitriu (Dumitriu IV) who won the Romanian championship with Steaua Bucure?ti.
