Barry Westhead (born 13 May 1977 in Wigan) is an English musician, best known as the pianist in Starsailor. Westhead was working as pianist in a church before meeting the other members of Starsailor, James Stelfox, Ben Byrne and James Walsh in March 2000.
He was the last member to join the band, then named Waterface.
The band had tried a number of guitarists before asking Westhead to join them as keyboardist.
His arrival has been heralded as the most significant event in the band's formation, because he was the one with connections at EMI. Westhead has the distinction of having an advanced qualification in piano (level above grade 8)Westhead and his partner Kelly have two children, a boy, Joseph, born on 6 April 2007 and a girl called Scarlett, born on 25th may 2010.
