He is the chairman of Shah Group (involved in construction, real-estate, trading, aviation, and manufacturing businesses).
He is the chairman of Total Air Services limited.
He has been recognized as a Commercially Important Person (CIP) by the Ministry of Industry, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh for the years 1989, 1990, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1998 and 2000.
He is the President (2018-2019) of the Consular Corps in Bangladesh (CCB) and honorary Consul General of Yemen to Bangladesh.
He is one of the founder members of the University of Asia Pacific and also, the founder member of Kazi Noman Ahmed Degree College.
