Eric Blackwood (also known as Eric Pastore) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and musician with the Progressive Rock band Edison's Children featuring Progressive Rock Bassist star Pete Trewavas of Marillion and Rick Armstrong the son of Apollo 11 Mission Commander and 1st Man on the Moon Neil Armstrong.
Eric is also an author, photographer, webmaster, special FX technician and property technician.
He has been an honorary member of the Marillion touring crew since 2005 and appears as such in the credits on Marillion's CD's and DVD's of "Their Montreal Weekend Concert Series" in 2009, 2011 and March 2013.
Eric was born in Brooklyn New York as the last of 4 children and raised in Great Kills Staten Island in New York City.
He graduated from New Dorp High School in 1986.
He is brother of former musician Sonny Pastore of "The Reluctant Reasons" (who opened for The Byrds in the late 60's in Europe) and brother of actor Garry Pastore who has been featured in 3 seasons of HBO's The Deuce as "Matty The Horse", Goodfellas, The Sopranos, Carlito's Way, A Bronx Tale, Donnie Brasco and The Wolf of Wall Street and is cousin to Vincent Pastore of The Sopranos.
Blackwood and Pete Trewavas (of Marillion and Transatlantic) originally formed the progressive rock duo Edison's Children in 2008 and recorded the album In The Last Waking Moments..., released on November 11, 2011, by Random Disturbance Records, and distributed in Europe by Marillion's Racket Records.
It spawned the U.S commercial radio Top 40 hit "A Million Miles Away (I Wish I Had A Time Machine)" on the FMQB Hot A/C Commercial Radio Charts on September 18, 2012, and remaining in the Top 40 for ten straight weeks, returning to its peak position at number 32 on October 12, 2012.
Blackwood and Trewavas collaborated on more than 100 songs for films and for Edison's Children between 2008 and 2012.
This led to a 2nd Edison's Children album "The Final Breath Before November" which was released in 2013 featuring Pete Trewavas and award winning drummer Henry Rogers.

finishing up the third album of new material "Somewhere Between Here and There " which included new mixes by King Crimson's Jakko Jakszyk of songs from The Final Breath Before November.
The song "At Night", penned during his previous effort Blackwood and Foti, and remixed by the band Closenuf, has received an Official Grammy Ballot Placement.Blackwood stopped recording and performing from all projects in 2013 after a devastating injury left him disabled while working on James Gandolfini's final film.
He also became stricken with Lyme disease which led to him being tethered to an IV for over a year.
Edison's Children had been on hiatus since, but Rick Armstrong who had already finished up their 3rd CD "Somewhere Between Here and There" and has been a major supporter of the band has begun working on all of Edison's Children's back catalog in an attempt to see Eric and Pete's writings finally come to fruition after Eric's injuries had curtailed the band for several years.
As webmaster and photographer of the website Digitalballparks.com, Blackwood authored and photographed the top-selling book 500 Ballparks (Thunder Bay Press, Baker & Taylor) with his wife, photographer Wendy Farrell.
