Fred Landman (Hebrew: ??? ??????; born October 28, 1956) is a professor of semantics at Tel Aviv University and the author of a number of books about linguistics.
Prof.
Landman is known for his influential work on progressives, polarity phenomena, groups, and other topics in semantics and pragmatics.A native of Holland, Landman taught at Brown University and Cornell University before immigrating to Israel in 1993.
He is married to London-born linguist Susan Rothstein.
The couple has one daughter and resides in Tel Aviv.
