About Robert Stuart Edgar
- Robert Stuart Edgar (September 15, 1930 – February 1, 2016) was a geneticist. Upon graduating from McGill University, Edgar pursued graduate study at the University of Rochester.
- After completing his doctorate, he began teaching at the California Institute of Technology in 1957.
- Edgar joined the University of California, Santa Cruz faculty in 1970, where he taught for twenty years until retirement in 1990.
- He received the NAS Award in Molecular Biology in 1965, and was granted membership into the National Academy of Sciences itself in 2007.
- He was also a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
