Almut Gitter Jones (born 8 September 1923, Oldenburg, died 12 October 2013, Urbana) was a German-American botanist and plant taxonomist known for her work researching the genus Aster and for her work as Curator of the University of Illinois herbarium.
She was married to fellow botanist George Neville Jones.
She described over fifty species.
