About Hermann Schleinhege
- Hermann Schleinhege (21 February 1916 – 11 March 2014) was a former Luftwaffe ace and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II.
- The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership; for the fighter pilots it was a quantifiable measure of skill and combat success.
- Schleinhege was credited with 97 aerial victories, all on the Eastern Front.
