She was Miss Puerto Rico in 1967 and competed in the Miss Universe pageant the same year.
She later became an actress, appearing in films such as The Godfather Part II and Lean on Me and television series including Switched at Birth and Teen Wolf.
From 2014 to 2019, Coll starred as Alba Villanueva in the CW comedy-drama series Jane the Virgin.
