  • Jacobus Petrus Duminy (16 December 1897 – 31 January 1980) was a South African academic who became principal and vice-chancellor of the University of Cape Town.
  • As a young man, he was also a cricketer who played in 3 Tests from 1927 to 1929.
  • He was born at Bellville, a suburb of Cape Town and died at Groote Schuur Hospital, also in Cape Town.
  • In his obituary in Wisden Cricketers' Almanack he is called "Johannes Petrus Duminy".
