- John O'Neill is an Ottawa, Ontario, Canada writer, founder, editor and publisher of science fiction and fantasy.
- He also writes fiction and reviews in the same fields under the pseudonym Todd McAulty. O'Neill holds a doctorate in Chemical Engineering and continued to work in that field. His primary publishing and editing effort was Black Gate magazine, a quarterly fantasy magazine published in 2000 to 2011.
