  • Raymond Leroy Coleman (June 4, 1922 – September 19, 2010) was a professional baseball outfielder.
  • He played five seasons in Major League Baseball, between 1947 and 1952, for the St.
  • Louis Browns (three separate stints), Philadelphia Athletics, and Chicago White Sox. Signed by the Browns as an amateur free agent in 1940, Coleman made his major league debut in 1947.
  • Coleman put together two consecutive years with 20-plus doubles (25 in 1950 and 24 in 1951), while finishing second in the American League with 12 triples in 1951.
  • He compiled 146 hits with 76 runs driven in during the 1951 season.A retired bookkeeper, Coleman died September 19, 2010, at age 88.
