About Émile Gaudreault

  • Émile Gaudreault (born 1964 in Jonquière, Quebec) is a Canadian film director and screenwriter. Gaudreault studied media arts and technologies before going to work as a performer and writer for the Quebec comedy troupe Le Groupe Sanguin.
  • He starred in Louis 19, King of the Airwaves (Louis 19, le roi des ondes), which he also co-wrote.
  • It won the Golden Reel Award for top-grossing Canadian film in 1994.
  • He has since written and directed two more Golden Reel winners, Wedding Night (Nuit de noces) in 2002 and Father and Guns (De père en flic) in 2010.
  • His other credits include Mambo Italiano, Surviving My Mother (Comment survivre sa mère) and Compulsive Liar (Menteur).
