Joe Herman "Red" Hayes was a fiddle player and singer-songwriter who co wrote "A Satisfied Mind" with Jack Rhodes.
He was born April 4, 1926, in Garden Valley, Texas near Tyler.
He was touring [1] in Manchester UK with Faron Young and Vassar Clements as the "Country Deputies with Connie Smith when he died on stage on March 2, 1973 [2].
He is buried in Garden Valley, Texas.
