About Robert Campbell MacKenzie

  • Colonel Sir Robert Campbell MacKenzie (12 January 1856 - 26 May 1945) was a British Army officer and Scottish international rugby union player. MacKenzie was born in Glasgow.
  • He was capped four times for Scotland between 1877 and 1881, scoring two goals (conversions), three tries, and two drop goals. He was a commander of the Highland Light Infantry.
  • He was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath in 1911.
  • Following the first World War, he was made a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 1919 Birthday Honours.He died, aged 89, in Duntocher, Dumbartonshire.
