About Sisir Adhikari
- Sisir Adhikari is former Union Minister of State for Rural Development in the Manmohan Singh government.
- He was elected to the 15th and 16th Lok Sabha from Kanthi with Trinamool Congress ticket.
- He is present Member of Parliament of 17th Lok Sabha He was the Member of Legislative Assembly from Kanthi Dakshin and Egra Assembly Constituency.
- He was the Chairman of Contai Municipality for more than 25 yrs. Born in an affluent family of freedom fighters, their home was burnt thrice by the British between 1929 and 1943.
