  • Steve Edwards was a Professor Emeritus at Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee, Florida.
  • A native of Florida, Edwards earned bachelor's and master's degrees in physics from Florida State University in 1952 and 1954, respectively.
  • After earning his PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 1960, Edwards returned to FSU and was a professor in the Department of Physics for more than 30 years.
  • He also served as the Dean of the Faculties and Deputy Provost for more than 10 years, until his retirement in 2003.Steve Edwards was a colleague of Paul Dirac, a Nobel Prize winning research professor from Florida State University. He died in his Tallahassee home on May 26, 2016.
