  • Thangso Baite (born 1953) is an Indian politician.
  • He is a member of the Lok Sabha.
  • He represents the Outer Manipur constituency in Manipur state in north-eastern India and entered the 15th Lok Sabha after winning the elections as a candidate of the Indian National Congress (INC) political party.
  • He is the second son of (L) Shri Ngamkhotong Baite and (L) Smt.

  • He hails from Dongjang village, Churachandpur district, Manipur. On 31 August 2015, Baite's home was torched in a mass demonstration in Churcachandpur after some bills were passed in the Legislative Assembly to protect indigenous people in Manipur.
  • The homes of Manipur Minister-in-charge of Family Welfare Phungzathang Tonsimg, and five MLAs, including Manga Vaiphei of Henglep assembly constituency and Vungzagin Valte of Thanlom were also burned in the demonstration, which killed 9 and injured 27.
  • One of those that died was found in the charred remains of Vaiphei's home.
  • Churcachandpur was placed on an indefinite curfew.
