Anthony Eden "Tony" Rand is an attorney and former Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly who represented the state's nineteenth Senate district from his appointment in 1981 until he unsuccessfully ran for Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina in 1988, losing to Jim Gardner.
Rand returned to the state Senate in 1995, where he served until his resignation in 2009.
His district included constituents in Bladen and Cumberland counties.
